About

Ali Mairet from mealinspired.

Welcome! My name is Alison. My friends and family call me Ali. I was born in the Ozarks with a family history in Missouri and Southeast Kansas. I've lived most of my life in the Kansas City area. I have the best husband, and 2 college-aged kids.  I'm a chemical engineer turned entrepreneur.  After leaving corporate America, I focused on raising our family while owning a couple of businesses. Eventually, my husband and I purchased a business together in 2013.  With a lot of sweat, tears, and amazing team members helping us along the way, we sold our business in 2024.  This road we have traveled has allowed me to pursue something I am passionate about.....I love to cook!

Many food blogs have great stories and rather simple recipes, but they don’t tell you everything that can happen while making the recipe. Things to help you be successful and things to avoid or watch out for.  That’s where I’m different.

If you are ready to...

  • Make a successful recipe that actually looks like the photo
  • Cut back on eating out
  • Make restaurant-worthy meals at home
  • Get ideas for dinner parties and entertaining recipes
  • Try seasonal cooking recipes
  • And lastly, master how to prepare an ingredient

...then you have come to the right place!!!

My experience:

I’m a former master gardener and seasoned home cook with over 25 years of cooking experience. Ultimately, those culinary classes and years of cooking experience have helped me narrow down the best methods to prepare an ingredient.

My background helps me describe things in great detail, with a clarity that lets you know you can do it too! The details do sometimes take a couple more steps. I will tell you everything you need to think about before cooking.

You can’t become a great cook by reading a book or watching a show. You have to practice. Start with your favorite dish until you have nailed it, then share it with people you love. Let that confidence carry you to the next dish.
